Competition Rules

1) The Bendigo Web Design Win A Website! competition runs from Saturday October 31st, 2009 to Midnight Friday November 6th, 2009.

All entries must be submitted before Midnight AEST on Friday November 6th 2009. Entries are limited to the Bendigo Advertiser and Bendigo Miner distribution region.

Bendigo Web Design reserves the right to extend the closing date beyond Friday November 6th in the case of a limited response.

2) To enter the contest:

You must register here on the Bendigo Web Design discussion forum (ucp.php?mode=register).

As a member, you must suggest your proposed domain name accompanied by a description of no more than 200 words.

You must also answer the tie-break question in case we can’t agree on a winner!

Each member is entitled to three separate entries.

Should you experience any difficulties whatsoever, send an email to admin or ask on the discussion forum and we will assist you.

3) The staff of Bendigo Web Design (BWD), including developers, graphic artists and sub-contractors, will select the winners on Monday November 9th at noon AEST (unless the closing date has been extended).

The selection will be at the sole discretion of BWD and you must comply with all steps above to be eligible to win including the tie-break question.

The winners will be posted on the Bendigo Web Design site (http://www.bendigowebdesign.com.au), the discussion forum (http://www.bendigowebdesign.com.au/forum) and the Captain’s Blog (http://www.bendigowebdesign.com.au/blog) on Monday November 9th at noon AEST or shortly thereafter (unless the closing date has been extended) and winners will also be notified via email.

Winners must reply within 48 hours using their legitimate email address (the email address used during registration) with any additional contact information, including full name, address and a contact number, in order to receive their prize.

Winners agree to be featured on the Bendigo Web Design main site, discussion forum, the Captain’s Blog and any subsequent press releases and/or promotional material elsewhere.

4) Prizes are as follows:

1st Prize

1 x lucky winner takes home a fully-featured website package incl. 12 months free domain name registration and secure Melbourne-based hosting. The number of pages to be included will be at the sole discretion of BWD following an initial consultation.

2nd Prize

2 x lucky winners will receive their very own feature-rich blog site with 12 months free domain name registration and hosting.

3rd Prize

3 x winners will receive their own personalized email address package free for the first year. Up to 5 separate email addresses are included.

Consolation Prizes

20 x additional entrants will receive a voucher code entitling them to 20% off any website package from Bendigo Web Design. Voucher codes are valid for three months from the date of issue.

Bendigo Web Design agrees to pay domain name registration and hosting fees for the first year. Thereafter, nominal fees apply and are the responsibility of the winners. Domain name registration fees are currently set at $15 per annum for .com and $30 per annum for .com.au. Hosting fees vary from $60 to $240 per annum depending on site bandwidth requirements.

Sites and domain names must be hosted on BWD servers in Melbourne for at least the initial 12 months.

Winners are under no obligation to continue hosting after the initial free 12 months.

Winners are under no obligation to continue domain name registration after the initial free 12 months.

What’s included?

Your choice from hundreds of themes and templates, custom graphics including a custom designed logo should you require one, a domain name of your choice*, Australian hosting, free management tools, search engine optimization as standard, complimentary search engine and directory submissions, comprehensive traffic statistics, lifetime* of maintenance and technical support, inclusion in forthcoming press releases, hints and tips on how best to promote your new site and the knowledge that your new site is locally built.

*Lifetime - Winners receive complimentary maintenance and technical support while they remain a customer of Bendigo Web Design. A customer is deemed to be anyone hosting a website, blog, email account or domain name on BWD servers, whether during or beyond the initial 12 month free period.

*Domain names - .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, .com.au, .net.au, .org.au, .asn.au, .cn, .name and .asia. Please note that Australian names may require a valid ABN, ACN, BRN etc.

All relevant site content and images must be supplied by the winners and submitted to BWD prior to website development.

The inclusion of any e-commerce functionality is an optional extra and incurs additional cost. You must notify BWD prior to development if you would like to discuss the many options available and arrange a quote.

No additional content or functionality is included other than that which is stated in the Competition Rules. Any additional scope will be priced accordingly.

There will be no cash equivalent.


5) BWD rulings are final and without appeal in all matters related to this Competition and the awarding of the Prizes. The Competition is subject to all applicable local, state and national laws and regulations.

All entries become the property of BWD.

Websites and blogs become the property of their respective winners.

Websites and blogs remain the property of their respective winners, irrespective of whether they decide to continue to host with BWD or transfer to an alternative hosting provider after the initial 12 months has expired.


6) Bendigo Web Design reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to modify, cancel or suspend this Competition should external circumstances arise which are beyond the reasonable control of BWD. This includes but is not limited to extending the deadline.

BWD is not responsible for any errors or omissions in printing or advertising this Competition.


Privacy

Bendigo Web Design collects your personal information for the purposes of registration, to keep you informed about the Competition, for normal communication purposes during web development and for subsequent maintenance and support.

BWD will not share any personal data it gathers with any 3rd party. The personal data collected for this Competition will not be used for any other purposes unless entrants provide explicit permission.


Disclaimer

Bendigo Web Design, its advertising and promotion agencies assume no responsibility for lost, stolen, delayed, damaged, illegible, incomplete, garbled or misdirected entries or entries that have been submitted through illicit means, or do not conform to or satisfy the Competition Rules or for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer online systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any entry to be received or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any other website, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to an entrant's, or any other person's computer, related to or resulting from displaying or downloading any material in the Competition.

By entering this Competition, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Bendigo Web Design and their respective employees, officers, directors, agents, representatives, successors, assigns, advertising and promotional agencies from any liability for any loss or damage of any kind to the entrant or any other person in connection with this Competition or participation in any Competition related activities or, if declared a winner, the use or misuse of a prize or any portion of a prize including personal injury, death, property or business damage.

This Competition will run in accordance with these Rules, subject to amendment by Bendigo Web Design. BWD reserves the right to cancel, amend, modify or terminate this Competition or the Rules at any time at its sole discretion and without notice.

Entrants must comply with these rules and will be deemed to have received and understood the rules if they participate in the Competition.
